History

• The Egyptian Olympic Committee was founded by Mr. Anglo Bolanaki on June 13, 1910 under the chairmanship of Prince Omar Tosson.

• Egypt is considered one of the leading nations across the world in the field of Olympic Sports. It is the 14th country to join the International Olympic Committee.

• The Mediterranean Games ICMG (International Committee For Mediterranean Games) was the brainchild of Mohamed Taher Pasha (Egypt NOC President and IOC Vice-President) in 1929, and the first Mediterranean Games take place in Alexandria in 1951.

• The ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committees) was created on June 1979.

• The ANOCA (Association Of National Olympic Committees in Africa) was created on 28 June 1981

• The UANOC (Union of Arab National Olympic Committees) The Arab Games was the brainchild of Dr. AbdelRahman Azzam (from Egypt) – the Secretary General of the Arab League & he received the approval of the Arab Countries in 1947. The First Arab Games take place in 1953 in Egypt.

• AFCNO (Association of Francophone National Olympic Committees) was founded on May 2010
